2025 Tomatoes

RED TOMATOES:

Amish Paste – I- M.  Bright red 8oz. fruits, canning type, Excellent for slicing fresh, not too acidic.
Better Boy -  I- M. Plump, juicy, deep red, very large. Produces full season. 
Big Zac – I-L. Record breaking variety of extra large meaty fruits
Celebrity – D-M. Excellent large, 7-8oz. globe-shaped red tomato for slicing.
Early Girl – I-E. Early slicing tomato, high yields of 4-6 oz. slightly flattened fruit.
Genuwine – I L. Recent, 2-week-earlier cross of Costoluto Genovese and original Brandywine.
Goliath – I-M. Bright red, deep oblate, 10-15oz., sweet flavor; vigorous plant. 
Italian Heirloom – I-M. Large 1 lb. fruit, easy to peel, ideal for canning or fresh eating.
Jet Star – I – M. Compact  habit, high yields of globe-shaped, low acid fruits.
Longkeeper – D-M. Heavy producer of medium-sized fruit, excellent for storing over winter
Momotaro – I-M. Pinkish-red, 6-7oz. with sweet and tangy flavor.
Moskvich – I-E. Deep red fruit, smooth texture, rich taste, average 4-6 oz., globe shaped. EARLY
Mortgage Lifter – I -L. 2-4 lbs, few seeds, the perfect tomato-sandwich tomato.
Red Brandywine – I-M  Scarlet-red, sister to the Brandywine, with the same incredible flavor.
Roma – D-M Paste-type, perfect for sauces. Bright red pear-shape, meaty, few seeds.
San Marzano – I-M. Excellent flavor, slightly rectangular, bright red, clusters, great canner.
Shorty Allen – I-L. Large red fruit, up to 1 lb., excellent flavor, very prolific.
Silvery Fir Tree – D-E. Prolific only 2’ tall plant from Russia; best container tomato we know. EARLY 
Stupice – I-E. Very early, cold tolerant, superior flavor, 1-2oz fruits, very sweet. EARLY 
 
PINK / BLACK/PURPLE TOMATOES:
Black From Tula – I-L. Deep mahogany-brown beefsteak with rich, sweet flavor, 8-12oz.
Black Krim – I-M. Dark red (almost black) with green shoulders. Interior is a deep, reddish-green.
Black Plum – I-M. Small elongated-oval fruit, deep mahogany, sweet & fruity.
Big Brandy  – I-L Bred from Brandywine taste with better yields a little earlier.
Brandywine, Sudduth’s – I-L. Large pink beefsteak can weigh up to 2 lbs. Incredible flavor. 
Cherokee Purple – I-L. Medium pink-purple (brown) fruits avg. 8-12 oz., are round to oblate.  
Japanese Black Trifele – I-M. Pear shaped, deep mahogany with green shoulders, rich flavor.
Pink Berkeley Tie Dye – I-M. 8-12 oz Pink w/ yellow streaks, sweet layers of flavor.
Rose De Berne – I-M. Medium-sized with rich sweetness, smooth pink fruit.
Sandul Moldovan – I-L. Large, slightly flattened, ribbed shoulders, sweet outstanding flavor.
Tiffen Mennonite – I-L. Large, dark-pink fruit, 4 inches across, firm with outstanding flavor.

Jaune Flamme- Clusters of 2-3oz. orange apricot-shaped fruit
Lemon Boy – I-M. Lemon yellow, 6-8oz., mild flavor, best producing yellow tomato for NW.
Lillian’s Yellow – I-L. Yellow, globe shaped beefsteak, up to 16oz., mild, creamy taste.
Nebraska Wedding – D-M. 4” round, glowing orange color, well balanced flavor.
Old German – I-L. Huge, 1-1/2 to 2 lbs., golden-yellow with red stripes, boat shape.
Pineapple – I-L. Yellow-red striped beefsteak fruits, mild flavor and no green shoulders.
Yellow Brandywine -  I-L. Rich, delicious flavor, 1-2 lb. fruit, smoother shape.
 
GREEN/WHITE TOMATOES
Great White – I-L. Large white beefsteak, very low acid and few seeds.
Green Zebra Giant – D-M. Green w/stripes, Tom Wagner’s ORIGINAL LARGE fruits, sweet, zippy flavor.
 
CHERRY TOMATOES:
Chocolate Cherry – I-E. Non-stop production of 1” port -colored fruit.
Green Grape  -I-E. Green when ripe, very juicy, sweet; excellent pickled.
Juliet – I-E Elongated fruit in grape-like clusters, red crack-resistant skin, sweet flavor.
Matt’s Wild – I-E. Small deep red round fruits, sweet, full flavor makes great salsa.
Riesentraub – I. E.  Excellent German heirloom grape tomato.
Suncherry – I-E. Grape-like trusses of very sweet red fruit.
Sungold – I-E. Exceptionally sweet, tropical flavored orange fruits, vigorous plants. 
Sunpeach – I-E. Reddish-pink sister to Sungold; flavor between sweet and tangy; fruit on long tresses.
Super Sweet 100 – I-E. Long strands of sweet-flavored red fruits. Bears heavily, needs staking..
Yellow Pear – I-E. Sweet, yellow, 1 oz. pear-shaped fruit.

BELL PEPPERS
Golden Calwonder – M. Earliest Gold bell in the NW.
Doe Hill – E. Smaller size with blend of sweet and tangy flavor
Northstar – E. Early green/red pepper, blocky, 3-4 lobed, medium-sized.
Orange Sun – M. Sweet bell goes from green to orange to red.
Purple Beauty – M. Pretty colored bell that ripens to Lavender color.
Red Beauty Hybrid – E. Brilliant bright red, thick-walled, heavy, sweet flesh that sets early.
 
SWEET NON-BELL PEPPERS
Chervena Chujski – M. Bulgarian heirloom with bright red flesh and almost candy-sweet.
Feherozon – E. Pointed bell shape ripens from  cream to orange to red, thick walls.
Gypsy – M. Wedge-shaped, crunchy, firm, sweet flesh, light green.
Nardello’s Sweet Italian Frying Pepper – M. Best sweet frying peppers we know.
Padron – E. Harvest green at 1-1.5 in., 1 out of 20 will be hot, a Spanish tapas staple.
Pimento   – M. 3 “ fruit, thick, meaty, sweet flesh.
Sheep Nose Pimento – M. Cheese-shaped, larger, thick, sweet and meaty flesh.
Shisito – M. Epicurean Japanese version of Padron without the possible heat.
Red Marconi – L. Large, very sweet, up to 12” long. Use green in fresh salads,  or fry when red.
Sweet Banana – M. Sweet, long yellow pepper great for roasting or pickling.
Trinidad Perfume  - L. Similar to Habanero, but is sweet, spicy, and delicious, with only a trace of heat.
 
CHILE PEPPERS
Anaheim – M. Medium hot, dark green flesh, ripening to bright red. 
Beaver Dam – M. HL with mild heat, broad shoulders, long tapering shape
Bulgarian Carrot – M. Bright orange 3.5” long fruit with heat and fruitiness for chutneys.
Cayenne  - M. 5-6in. fruit, with 50-60,000 Scoville units.
Cayenne Golden – M. Lemon yellow color, medium heat, dries to golden yellow powder.
Fatalli -L. African variety of Habanero; same heat and a citrusy flavor.
Fresno – M. Medium hot red variety used primarily for salsas.
Habanero – L. HOT! Lantern-shaped, matures to orange, from the Yucatan.
Habanero, Red Savina – L. Red fruit, smoky citrus flavor; 577,000 SHUs
Jalapeno – M.  Sausage-shaped, blunt fruits are the staple to Mexican cooking; medium-hot.
Lemon Drop - M. A golden aji from Brazil, about the size of your little finger, hot and citrusy.
Pasilla Bahio – M. Almost no heat, has a berry flavor, dark blackish-green to dark brown.
Poblano/Ancho – M. Used to make chile rellenos. Heart-shaped fruits.
Puma – M. Tangerine and violet fruits on purple tinged foliage; 300,000-400,000 SHU
Serrano – M. Very hot, perfect for chili sauce, salsa, hot pepper vinegar and pickles.
Sugar Rush Peach – L. Habanero heat with sweet/smoky/citrusy flavor on a very tall plant.
Thai Hot – E. Fleshy pods are especially good in Oriental dishes and chili, maturing to red
